My friend and I were discussing yesterday about how men control the entertainment industry and the realities of the behind the scenes of the Hollywood/Music Industry dream, which more often than not, isn't a pretty picture for young girls. So it's good for girls and women to know from the git go that it's not about being an actress/singer/puppet in front of the cameras, it's about being the writer, producer and/or executive producer. This means saving money, being focused, working hard, having a vision and bringing your vision to life.
Whether you agree or not, this is real and the only way women get respect in this industry is by earning it. Otherwise if you're so gung ho to make it in the entertainment business, and you don’t have all these skills and abilities in place, you may have to lie on the dreaded casting couch, which I pray no woman has to.
