We all know that in a perfect world where married people stay faithful and unmarried people stay celibate, we wouldn't need condoms. Since the world isn't so perfect Trojan, the makers of Trojan condoms have put together a national tour. This national tour is aimed at helping to promote safe sexual practices and combat the current sexual health crisis in the United States by educating young adults about sexual health and carrying condoms.
The Trojan "Evolve" campaign is designed to spark awareness and dialogue about the state of sexual health in America, provide an opportunity to advocate for change, and encourage people to take personal responsibility over their sexual health by pledging to “USE A CONDOM EVERY TIME.”
What does “evolve” mean?
Trojan is asking every single person in the United States to evolve and use a condom every time. An “evolved” person is someone who is educated on the dangers of unprotected sex, cares about and is respectful of his/her own sexual health and that of their partner and is prepared and comfortable carrying condoms. Trojan’s goal is to “evolve” one person at a time in order to create a more sexually healthy America.
The current sexual health statistics in America are as follows:
1 in 4 American’s will contract an STI by the time they are 25 years old
65 million Americans are living with an incurable STI
3 million unintended pregnancies in the United States occur every year
750,000 of which are women under the age of 17
40% of unintended pregnancies lead to abortions
There are approximately 1 billion unprotected hook-ups by single Americans every year
