2010 Lilith Fair Is Coming Soon!
Lilith Fair, a celebration of women in music which is a concert tour and travelling music festival, founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan, Nettwerk Music Group's Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond is back up and running. It took place during the summers of 1997 to 1999, and was revived in the summer of 2010. It consists solely of female solo artists and female-led bands. In its initial 3 years, Lilith Fair raised over $10M for women's charities throughout North America. This year, beginning July 15th, in Kansas City, MO and ending August 3rd in Washington DC, Lilith Fair 2010 promises to be an exciting one.
I will be attending the event at the Washington DC location, at Columbia Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavillion, which is the last stop for this year. It will feature Corrin Campbell, Jesca Hoop Lissie, Nneka, Beth Orton, Missy Higgins, Sara Bareilles, Cat Power, Court Yard Hounds, Indigo Girls and last but definitely not least Sarah McLachlan.
