Art Exhibition by Artist, Paul Weller of Glass Expressions by Paul, Inc.

Paul Weller

An exhibition was held today at Howard Community College (HCC) in Columbia, MD to showcase the work of brilliant artist Paul Weller, whose works of stained and fused glass art are remarkable and unique. The pieces available for sale included earrings, decorative plates and hanging ornaments. The event was arranged by Betty Noble, who is the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial and Business at HCC, where Paul is enrolled in the Entrepreneurial Program.

As is often the case with artists, there’s a unique story behind his unique designs from the heart. Paul Weller experienced visual, physical and intellectual challenges due to a birth trauma, but thanks to his loving family, he has lived a happy and productive life.

He became interested in Stained Glass art while making Stepping Stones one summer through the creative efforts of an art therapist. As he began to explore other stained glass techniques with his art teacher, Ms. Barbra Quinn in Frederick, MD, he discovered the freedom of expression in glass fusing. By making adaptations to the workspace, tools and materials to accommodate his physical and visual challenges, she made it possible for him to use his talents to create beautiful and colorful textual designs.

He now expresses himself creatively by creating one of kind designs of various sizes and shapes of fused glass art in his home studio, which he sells at art shows and exhibits. They are also available for sale on his website. Prices range from $20 to several hundred dollars, depending on the size and intricacy of the design. His art has received wide acclaim from art enthusiasts and the business community.

Paul realizes he is blessed and wants to give back to his community. With the profits from the sale of his stained and fused art pieces and tax-deductible contributions to his business, Glass Expressions by Paul, Inc. he will offer financial assistance to disabled persons to enable them to enroll in Creative Arts Therapies or other programs of instruction, which will help them discover their talents and ability to use their gifts in productive ways for self-fulfillment and to inspire others.

The mission of Glass Expressions by Paul, Inc. is to demonstrate that, with enough support, individuals with severe disabilities can discover their talents and gifts in the creative arts and find meaningful ways to express themselves that will bring fulfillment and joy to their lives and to the community at large.

Paul shows us all that a disability is not inability with support and hard work.

Please consider becoming a Founding Donor of Glass Expressions by Paul, Inc, so that those who cannot access programs in creative expression might be able to do so, through Glass Expressions by Paul, Inc and develop their abilities in the creative arts and experience the joy of self-expression.
