Brides Across America

The dream of most brides is to saunter down the aisle in a beautiful white weddding dress. However, many of our service men and women can't afford this luxury. That's where smart thinking Heidi Janson came to the rescue by creating Brides Across America, a wedding gown giveaway for people who are serving in the armed forces. Nicholas Cassmas of Chevy Chase Bridal is one of the participants of the nationwide event. Twice a year they line their aisles with donated designer gowns that normally cost $ 400 -$5000k for soldiers or soldier’s wives to be, to pick out for their weddings for free.

This is their way of honoring soldiers and their soon to be spouses by reducing their wedding budgets by giving them free wedding gowns. We all know our service men and women don’t earn the highest pay and this small act of kindness in return for their sacrifices which sometimes includes their lives goes a long way in helping them to actualize their dreams of having a nice wedding.

Musu Francis – A bride whose husband to be is serving in the military says it's his sacrificial act of service to his country that makes her love him more.

It’s all about paying it forward, but we can never do too much to help our troops who leave their families, friends and homes to serve us all even in the line of fire.

Take a moment to think about what you can do to serve those who serve you. No gesture is too small, and they really do appreciate your appreciation of their service to their country.
