~Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Edwards~

Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards is dead at 61...
When it was announced yesterday in the on websites and earlier today on the Today Show by Matt Lauer that Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards, wife of the former presidential candidate, John Edwards had suspended her cancer treatment and was surrounded by her family, at her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I thought it was weird. I wondered why would such information was made public.
Unfortunately, I didn't know that the end was so near, that’s why they did that. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer and treated in 2004. At one point, they said she was cancer free. Unfortunately, in 2007, the cancer returned and spread to her liver and today was her last day on earth. I feel so sorry for her and her kids because of the issues she had to deal with courtesy of her husband.
If a cheerful heart is good medicine, her husband's affair didn't help her cancer. What was hidden came to light when the tabloid newspaper, National Enquirer began reporting about his affair with a campaign aide named Rielle Hunter when he was seeking the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.
Knowing what he had done and the scrutiny presidential candidates are subjected to, he had no business seeking the office and causing himself and his family such public embarrassment. I'm sure he must've denied it to her, saying his political opponents were responsible for it. Even publicly initially he lied; dismissing the reports as "tabloid trash," but finally the truth emerged.
They separated after 32 years of marriage, a week after he admitted that he had fathered an illegitimate daughter with his lover by then, the child, was 2 years old. I don’t know why he waited so long to fess up. As brilliant as he has to be being an attorney, he acted like he wasn’t intelligent at all, because we all know this is US of A, someone, somewhere will definitely rat you out to get paid. The person who would force him to tell the truth was his former aid, Andrew Young, who had earlier said he was the child's father and later wrote a tell all book. I never understood why it was the pressure of the book's release that forced the truth out of John, because illegitimate babies don’t disappear, they grow up. Well, maybe he stalled wishing his escapade away or trying to buy Rielle’s eternal silence.....
Either way, his moments of pleasure, which he obviously didn’t take the time to calculate the cost of, before he embarked on it, caused irreparable harm to his family, which is very unfair. Although I don't condone men cheating, if a man wants to cheat, my advice is, "Choose a person who won't later pose for racy pictures and make stupid comments on the Oprah Winfrey Show in full view of your wife and children." Then again, a woman who wouldn't do those things wouldn't have an affair with a married man in the first place. If more men would only think, before they act, the world would be a much better place.
I can only imagine the pain she must've gone through, as she battled the emotional pain of the embarrassment of her husband’s actions, the tortuous pain of preparing her children for a life without her and the grueling physical pain of dealing with her cancer…..It’s just such a shame.
Now we will all have the pleasure of watching John Edwards live till he’s a hundred years old, while she’s dead after all the problems he caused, adding to her cancer. Life is so unfair……I hope John Edwards knows that this is not an opportunity for him to backslide back to Rielle. Even though Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles did something similar, they are not good role models to follow and that would show absolutely bad judgement.
If prayers are accepted for the dead, I pray Elizabeth Edwards will be granted entry into heaven. I pray that God will grant her family; most especially her children the fortitude to bear this great loss.
Adieu Elizabeth Edwards. God bless you……
