Oh really.
I was just reading an article about a former neighbor of mine, a woman I know personally, discussing her life, business and good marriage. However, I was flabbergasted when she stated, “Most marital problems are caused by idleness.” This woman has a lot of nerve. Just because she’s hard working, has a thriving business and is lucky enough to be in a good marriage doesn’t make her an authority on marriage. This is very evident in her silly statement.
The simplicity of this woman's mind amazes me. This is a woman whose first daughter after having a huge society wedding, couldn’t work things out with her spouse and subsequently moved back home to live with her parents. I hope people who read the article who were previously or currently are in bad relationships with their spouses, don’t feel inadequate or “idle” in any way for not being able to stay in a troubled marriage.
If anyone is in a good marriage, thank God for it, because it is no one's doing but God's. Many people who are more attractive, hardworking, caring, educated and better than most in every way shape and form aren't blessed with good marriages, so no one should believe it’s their hard work that earned them a good marriage.
This woman's dumb statement, goes to show that some people's luck make them take their good fortune for granted and utter insensitive words they don't know might impact other people negatively......
