George Washington University to Host Panel Discussion Featuring PBS’ Tavis Smiley, Jan. 12

EVENT:

George Washington University will host Tavis Smiley, host of “Tavis Smiley” on PBS, in a discussion focused on how to restore prosperity in America. This symposium, featuring a distinguished panel of guests, will focus on a recently released white paper from Indiana University on how poverty is changing in America.

• Vicki B. Escarra, president and CEO, Feeding America

• Michael Moore, American filmmaker

• Jeffrey Sachs, poverty expert; professor of health policy and management, Columbia University

• Tavis Smiley, host, “The Tavis Smiley Show” and co-host of “Smiley & West” from Public Radio International (PRI)

• Cornel West, professor and author, Princeton University
