The Orioles teamed up with Nickelodeon to bring SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer to Camden Yards for "Nickelodeon Day at Oriole Park." On Sunday, August 14 as the Orioles took on the Detroit Tigers, the two characters were on site for a variety of activities including Bird Baseball with The Oriole Bird, greeting fans and posing for photographs. SpongeBob and Dora were also on-field following the game for the exclusive Dugout Club Members-only Kids Run the Bases.
As part of "Nickelodeon Day at Oriole Park," Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Square Pants were on the field for a pre-game ceremony to present gift bags to youth from Bollman Bridge Elementary School, a Howard County Public School which strives to achieve Excellence in Education, a vision which the students participating in the ceremony have exemplified through their hard work and dedication to their academic responsibilities.
In addition to the pre-game ceremony, the characters appeared throughout the ballpark, taking pictures with fans, socializing with Dugout Club members, and handing out the Fan of the Game prizes.
Below are pictures from the event. Enjoy!
