Do You Want To Be A Good Father?

I'm guessing every man who has a child or children would respond with a resounding "Yes" to the question, but being a good father takes hard work and practice. Many times men don't know how to be good fathers, because they didn't have a good role model to learn from themselves. What makes it worse is that children don't come with manuals. However, don't fear, Sociable Susan is here to help. Below are some tips you should feel free to use to help you become an excellent father.

Be a fly on the wall in their lives, which means be there, but don't overly intrude.
Be a present presence. Be there to talk to them if they want to or just be there so they know you are available to them.
Don't be afraid to share your personal experiences that can help them deal with whatever situation they are in.
Be a provider and a protector. Provide for their needs, but don't over indulge them.
Model positive behavior. Don't tell them to do one thing, while you do the opposite.
If you can't love their mother, be at least kind and civil to her, because hostile parents, creates confusion in kids.

Happy parenting!
