World Aids Day will be held on Wednesday, December 1st. To commemorate the occassion, there will be a World AIDS Day International Conference on HIV-Related Stigma titled, The Attitude that Spreads HIV. The conference will be from 8:30am to 5:00pm at Howard University's Cramton Auditorium located at 2455 6th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20059.

This conference on HIV which is the most stigmatized disease in the history of mankind will update participants on HIV, prevention efforts, how stigma spreads, stigma and human rights, causes, barriers and effects.

The workshop sessions include: Stigma and it's effects on Race/Ethinicity, Faith/Spirituality, Global Views and Research. Free HIV testing, HIV Exhibitors, Workshops and refreshments.

The 2nd Annual World AIDS Day Benefit Concert titled, Six Degrees will be held at Howard University. The event aims to take a stand against the AIDS pandemic by donating all proceeds to young people at-risk for HIV infection, as well as care and support services for young adults and their families already affected with HIV/AIDS in Washington, DC.

The proceeds from the event will be donated to Metro TeenAIDS. The event will be comprised of various performances by students, organizations, and a special guest performance. Some of the performances already involved in the benefit concert include dance, spoken word, instrumental and vocal talents.

HIV/AIDS testing opportunities, as well as educational information on safer sexual health practices, will also be available during the benefit concert. Tickets are on sale now at Cramton Auditorium Box Office.
