The tiny, historic community of Fells Point, Baltimore MD recently played host to the 44th annual Fells Point Festival, which was held over the weekend, October 2nd and 3rd. The festival was divided into two sections, the Spanish section dedicated to Spanish speakers and the general section dedicated to everyone. This fun event had people shopping from different novelty vendors and funky shops, eating from a variety of creative food vendors and restaurants, and interacting with mascots such as Scooby Doo and Winnie the Pooh, and costume characters such as Andy Worhol and Super woman.
Representatives of the Animal shelter of Baltimore walked around with dogs with Adopt a dog signs for festival patrons to adopt, the Martin Pollack Project Inc, which is a non-profit child placement agency was also there to find loving people with homes to adopt people from ages 14-21 years old. Also those vying for political office were present or had their representatives present. Saturday was a bright and sunny day, however, Sunday wasn’t as nice as it was cool and windy. Around 4.45 it began to rain for about 30 minutes. The rain didn’t dampen the festival patrons’ spirits as they walked around in it.
Vendors and stores that participated include; Brand of Free, Science diet, Lara bar, Attic Dwellers, Irie Ones, Wind River, Party Dress, Max’s, Gelato, Green Turtle, Caribbean Cuisine, Fast Dog and Billie Holliday House.
Foods available for purchase included like Crab dip, pulled pork sandwiches, fresh lemonade, bbq chicken on stick, crab cakes, funnel cakes, cotton candy, ice-cream and gelato.
This was a not-to-be missed event. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event. Pictures are below. Enjoy!
